A Loner

A loner, that’s what he was, a loner
nobody understood, nobody
all he wanted was to be alone,
like a lone wolf, but forever,
never to search for a pack,
never to be touched again
those were his last wishes,
but his family did not listen.

They never listened, they never
but enter gossip, enter
talk about what was untrue
take his things, do more damage
it can’t be, it can’t be undone,
a loner he was, a loner he wanted to be
just leaving him alone, doing that one thing he asked
could have saved you from all this,
all these fake tears, selfish.
