It’s 6:44 A.M and all I can do is think about all of the pressure you’ve put me through.
It’s overtaking and I am at the point of breaking,
But I lay here and think about you.
“Why?” I ask myself,
It’s a web I’m caught in,
And while I lay in this bed
I have these thoughts rushing through my head—there’s no end.
I play music to forget about you—it seems to make it worse—but I don’t cut it off.
I guess I want this pain,
Because thinking about you makes it rain.
It’s not a soothing rain,
It’s much like fire
And when it burns it fills my desire.
Because all I think about is you.
Love is like a drain
And when it sucks
It takes everything to make it up.
So the music has faded
It’s opened my eyes
I no longer see this huge divide.
I’ve buried everything from the past;
Love will no longer be the same.
Between the rain, music, and all of the lies,
I’ve learned the beauty of the universe shines bright—
as I lay here in this bed gazing the stars tonight.

Awwww really touching ..and a good positive end thanks for sharing x x x

For some reason this poem reminded me of Roxy Music/Brian Ferry…I guess I’m sensing the lyrical/musical quality of your poem…especially
“I play music to forget about you—it seems to make it worse—but I don’t cut it off.
I guess I want this pain,
Because thinking about you makes it rain.”
I really liked all of it, along with the image…Bradley “You Got Talent! Big time…

Thank you, Christy! “The Dying Rose” is a photo I took in 2009. If the photos have my name on them, they’re mine. If they don’t, they’re from iStockPhoto.com, etc.

Love hurts sometime but the stars are eternal; a sad but positive poem with its reminder that “beauty in the universe shines bright”…
